Brittney Griner not traveling on Mercury’s 2-game road trip, will focus on mental health

In order to “focus on her mental health,” Brittney Griner will not take a forthcoming road trip with the Phoenix Mercury, the team announced on Saturday.

While the Mercury claimed it is still finalizing “a timeline for her return” to the court, the WNBA star will miss at least two of the games her team

Brittney has the full support of The Mercury, and we will keep working together to determine a return date.

Griner, a former WNBA all-star and Olympic gold medalist, first joined the league earlier this year after being freed from Russian custody.
